The morning shot works better when the ingredients do. Here’s what most bottles won’t tell you.

Somewhere in your kitchen there’s a bottle of olive oil, a shot glass, and a lemon that’s seen better days.
You know the ritual. The morning olive oil shot. Maybe you take it every day. Maybe you did it for two weeks in January. Maybe you’ve been meaning to start since the first time you saw it.
Here’s the thing almost nobody doing it stops to check:
Whether the oil in that bottle is actually the oil the ritual is built on.
01The grade
“Extra virgin” is a floor, not a ceiling
Extra Virgin
≤ 0.8% acidityTop-grade olives, first physical pressing below 25°C, no chemical treatment.
GLO Shot: 0.19% or lower.
Virgin
Pressed whole fruit, looser standard.
Pure
Reprocessed oil, less color and flavor.
Blended
Cut with other oils.
The label says extra virgin. Legally, that means acidity of 0.8% or below.
That’s the minimum to qualify. A lot of supermarket oil sits right at the line.
Lower acidity means fresher fruit and faster pressing. Less time between the tree and the bottle. Less degradation.
The oil in a GLO Shot tests at 0.19% or lower — less than half the legal limit for extra virgin.
That’s not a marketing number. That’s a lab result.
02The variety
One variety, picked on purpose

Spain produces more olive oil than any country on earth. Active Formula uses one Spanish variety: Picual.
Why just one? Because varieties aren’t equal. Research published in an international science journal found Picual olives can carry up to 2× the polyphenols of the common Arbequina variety.*
Polyphenols. Oleocanthal. Oleic acid. Vitamins A, E, and K. This is what people take the shot for. So they started with the olive that carries more of it.

03 Cold pressed
Cold-pressed means cold-pressed

Harvest. Wash. Crush. Separate. Press below 25°C — no heat, no chemical solvents. Pack.
That’s the whole process. Nothing added, nothing rushed.

04Not from concentrate
Not From Concentrate
Typical bottled lemon juice
Mostly water and additives.
NFC pressed juice
100% lemon. Nothing added back.
Be honest: is your “lemon” a fresh lemon — or a plastic squeeze bottle?
Most bottled lemon juice is mostly water and additives, with actual juice somewhere in the mix.
GLO Shot’s lemon is NFC — Not From Concentrate. Whole organic Spanish lemons, EU-certified, pressed and processed within 24 hours of harvest. Same-day harvest, same-day production.
100% lemon. Nothing added back. A natural source of Vitamin C, which supports your body’s own collagen formation.
One of the main game changers.. The citrus kick, completely changes your experience compared to your traditional DIY.

05The third ingredient
The ingredient knows, but don't know how to add.

Fresh ginger is the best part of the shot and the worst part of the prep. Peeling. Grating. Juicing. A cutting board that smells like ginger for two days.
So most people skip it.
Active Formula didn’t. Every GLO Shot is 15% organic ginger juice — pressed fresh, not dried, not powdered. Gingerol-rich, and it supports healthy digestion and everyday gut comfort. Grown in the Netherlands to EU organic certification.
The second key factor to why GLO Shot's taste is irreplaceable. The fiery ginger kick gives you the 2 second wake up burn you need to fight the oils.
06The research
Has this combination been studied?
Independent researchers have studied olive oil and lemon juice taken together as a morning routine.1
It’s referenced here for one reason: so you know this ritual didn’t come from nowhere.

Your ritual, corrected
Your ritual, corrected

So the shot works best when the oil is genuinely extra virgin, the lemon is fresh-pressed, and the ginger actually makes it in.
Which means the DIY version asks you to be a sommelier, a juicer, and a dishwasher — before 8 a.m.
Or:
60% extra virgin olive oil. 25% lemon juice. 15% ginger juice. All organic. Zero additives. Cold-pressed into a 25 mL stickpack.
Rip. Sip. Done.
No bottle. No measuring. No sticky counter. Shelf-stable — it lives in your bag, not your fridge.
Four ways people use it
The everywhere dressing. One pack is a pre-measured 25 mL base.
-
1 Salad
-
2 Poke bowl
-
3 Grilled fish
-
4 Avocado toast

“Can’t I just keep doing it myself?”

You can. Genuinely.
But run the math on doing it right: a verified low-acidity Picual oil, fresh organic lemons every week, fresh ginger root, a juicer, and ten minutes of prep and cleanup a day.
Active Formula did all of that once, at scale, and sealed it. 14 packs per box. Every pack identical: 60/25/15, every time.
